Since the triangles are similar, we can use ratios to find what x equals.

Ratios:
3x+8/4 = 25/5

The easiest way to solve ratios, in my opinion is to cross multiply.

3x+8*5 = 4*25. Simplify to get 15x + 40 = 100.

Subtract 40 on both sides. 15x = 60.

Divide 15 on both sides. x = 4.

The Interest on $2,000 for 2 years is $320 what is the simple interest rate?
Ronch [10]

Answer:

It would be 20

Step-by-step explanation:because you have to divide 320 by 2 which equals $160 for 1 year and then divide that by 2 again would be $80 for 6 months then divide it by 2 again which would be $40 and 3 months for it then divide it by 2 again and 1 and a half months equal $20

PLEASE HELP ASAP PLEASE
Juliette [100K]

Answer: #20, x = 3

              #21,  x = 1/2

Step-by-step explanation:

#20) x + 4 + x + 2+ x + 5  = x + 3 +x+3+x+1+x+1

3x + 11 = 4x + 8

<u>-3x           -3x</u>

      11= x + 8

  <u>   - 8       - 8</u>

     3   =   x

#21)  12x(5) = 6x + 9 + x + 10 + x + 7

         60x =8x + 26

       <u>   -8x    -8x</u>

         52x = 26

 divide both sides by 52

         x = 1/2

2. what value of b makes the following equation true
Svetradugi [14.3K]

Answer:

  2. 10

  3. D.  1 for all n

Step-by-step explanation:

2. The applicable rules of exponents are ...

  (a^b)(a^c) = a^(b+c)

  a^b = 1/a^-b

__

  \dfrac{4^8}{(4^2)^{-3}}\div 4^4=\dfrac{4^8}{4^{-6}\cdot4^4}=\dfrac{4^8}{4^{-2}}\\\\=4^8\cdot4^2=4^{10}

The value of n is 10.

__

3. Using the above rules of exponents, the expression simplifies to ...

  6^(-n+n) = 6^0 = 1

The value is 1 for any n.

The diameter of a clock's face is 6 inches. Find the length of the mirror arc formed by the hands of the clock at 4:00. Round to
Genrish500 [490]
We know that

360°/12 hour-----------> 30°/hour

<span>Central angle at 4 .00 is 120 degrees

the radius of a clock is 6/2-----> r=3 in
length of a circumference=2*pi*r-----> 2*pi*3----> 18.84 in

the minor arc at 4 .00 is  for a central angle of 120</span>°
so
if 360° (full circle)---------> has a length of 18.84 in
 120°----------------------> X
X=120*18.84/360-------> X=6.28 in

the answer is
6.28 in
