Next, lets find if he has enough wood for his project:
From the 2.25 feet piece he can cut \frac{2.25}{0.6} =3.75; since he needs even pieces, we can discard the decimal part of the result; therefore, he can cut 3 pieces.
From the 1.75 piece he can cut \frac{1.75}{0.6} =2.91; similarly, since he needs even pieces, we can discard the decimal part of the result; therefore, he can cut 2 pieces.
From both pieces, he can cut 2+3=5 pieces.

We can conclude that he has enough wood left to finish his project.
