President Abraham Lincoln delivered a speech at Gettysburg on November 19, 1863 during American Civil war. The speech was delivered at the dedication ceremony of National Cemetery of Gettysburg. Many soldiers were killed during this war from both the sides in the Battle of Gettysburg.

So, in the honor of these martyred soldiers, President Lincoln delivered this speech.

The speech contained less than 275 words, and Lincoln took only few minutes to deliver this speech. But even in this few minutes, he left a remarkable impact to his audience. The speech spoke about the principles of human equality mentioned in the Declaration of Independence.
