Why was Roe v. Wade a controversial case
cupoosta [38]

It was controversial mainly for two reasons: Because it involved the abortion attempt of a young woman who was a physical and emotions abuse victim, who had also lied to authorities in Texas in order to get a legal abortion. Public opinion was largely divided on the issue. Conservatives blamed the woman and Democrats blamed the existing laws that prevented women from aborting.

The second reason was judicial: many people considered that the Constitution was being misinterpreted to adjust to shifting social mores. For these dissenters, there was no legal justification of any kind to authorize abortion as a Constitutional right.

MaRussiya [10]

Answer:

Innocent: free from guilt; free from legal fault. This should not be confused with the term “not guilty.” Not guilty is a verdict by a judge or a jury that a person accused of a crime did not commit it or that there is not enough evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the accused committed the crime.

Who or what are the maquiladoras? death squads that hunt and kill the beggar children of brazil elite members of mexico's newly
STALIN [3.7K]
Maquiladoras are "assembly-for-export factories along the Mexican border." In Spanish, "máquina" means "machine," so we can think that "maquiladora" (which sounds similar) has to do with making machines, or that the maquiladora itself is run like a machine, since the employees often work in assembly lines. Another word for "maquiladora" is "maquila," which further bolsters this word association to "máquina."
