History tells us that Criton's disciple of Socrates offers his master escape from prison. Socrates was not interested in escaping because he cared what the people thought of him if he left orphaned his children he said (The most important thing for man is not to live, but to live well)
If Socrates had escaped he would not follow his ideals and would have set a bad example for his children
