A meteorologist is monitoring the atmospheric pressure as his height above sea level varies. The meteorologist determines that t

he atmospheric pressure decreases by 12% for each additional kilometer the city is above sea level. The atmospheric pressure at sea level is 103 kPa (kilopascals).
a. Define a function, p, that determines the atmospheric pressure (in kPA) in terms of the number of kilometers the city is above sea level, n.

b. If the atmospheric pressure is 72 kPa what is your elevation above sea level (in kilometers)?

c. If the atmospheric pressure is 98 kPa what is your elevation above sea level (in kilometers)?

d. What is the atmospheric pressure, in kPa, when you are 20 kilometers above sea level?

(a)
p(n)=103(0.88)^{n}

(b)
72=103(0.88)^{n}
\frac{72}{103}=0.88^{n}
Taking logs of both sides, we get:
log(\frac{72}{103})=n\ log\ 0.88
n=\frac{log\frac{72}{103}}{log0.88}=2.8\ km

(c)
n=\frac{log\frac{98}{103}}{log0.88}=0.389\ km\ or\ 389\ m

(d)
p=103(0.88)^{20}=8\ kPa

Given the graph below, find MN. Round to the nearest hundredth.
Galina-37 [17]

Answer:

5.39

Step-by-step explanation:

if you are trying to find MN then it means you need to find the length.

we cant use slope, but we CAN make it a triangle!

*see the attached image*

we can use A^2+B^2 to get what the hypotenuse is or C^2 is

2^2+5^2

4+25=29

the square root of 29 is 5.385

then we just round to the hundreth!

5.39

(8>5, so we bump him up)

hope this helped!

<em>A rohmbus have all the sides equal where as in rectangle only opposite sides are equal.</em>

c). Adjacent sides of rectangle are congurent - Always

<em>In rectangle the opposite sides are always equal, so they are congurent.</em>

d). Diagonals of square are perpendicular-Never

Hitung jarak di antara titik P(7, 1) dengan titik Q(7, 8)
MaRussiya [10]

Answer:

7 units

Step-by-step explanation:

Distance between 2 points

=\sqrt{(y1 - y2)^{2}  + (x1 - x2) {}^{2} }

Thus, distance PQ

=\sqrt{(8 - 1)^{2}  + (7 - 7)^{2} }  \\ = \sqrt{7^{2} }  \\  = 7

Or you could simply take 8-1= 7 since both points have the same x-coordinate. Thus, PQ is a vertical line and the distance between them is due to the difference in their y-coordinate.
