Fairness is the quality of justice and impartiality without favoritism when making decisions. It connotes the idea of reasonableness, which Xavier, possesses. Reasonableness would make one realistic and flexible in his expectations. This is what makes him realize, that to be a publisher he first has to rise from the smaller position of an assistant.

Efficacy is simply the ability to work effectively to generate an expected output.

Tact is the quality of applying skill in our relationships with others and being sensitive to their needs. Xavier does not have to deal with others in making this decision.
