Answer: 14.67 pounds of second alloy must be added to the first alloy to get 12% mixture.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

A alloy of 14% tin weigh 22 pounds.

There is a  second alloy of 9% tin .

we need to find the quantity of second alloy that must be added to first alloy get a 12% mixture.

We will use "Mixture Alligation":

   Ist alloy   IInd alloy

     14%             9%

               12%

-------------------------------------

 12-9          :             14-12

    3            :                2

Since Ist alloy = 22 pounds

According to question, it becomes,

\frac{3}{2}=\frac{22}{x}\\\\2\times 22=3x\\\\44=3x\\\\\frac{44}{3}=x\\\\14.67=x

Hence, 14.67 pounds of second alloy must be added to the first alloy to get 12% mixture.

What is the easiest to understand formula for solving 45 45 90 special right triangles?
alexgriva [62]

Step-by-step explanation:

45°, 45°, 90° triangle theorem states that:

Lengths of the sides opposite to the 45° angle are equal to one upon root two times of the length of hypotenuse.

Mathematically it can be expressed as:

length \: of \: sides \: opposite \: to \: 45 \degree \: \\  angle \\  =  \frac{1}{ \sqrt{2} }  \times length \: of \: hypotenuse.

6y+2=-2(2y-1) help pls.
Viefleur [7K]

Answer:

y=0

Step-by-step explanation:

6y+2=-2(2y-1)

Distribute

6y+2 = -4y +2

Add 4y to each side

6y+2 = -4y +2+4y

6y +2 =2

Subtract 2 from each side

6y +2-2 = 2-2

6y = 0

y=0
