Alexander Hamilton and James Madison lead those who were in the favour of the constitution. They did this because they believed that system will preserve the Union and empower federal government.

The Federalists papers were the articles which had 85 collections under it and these were written by famous American author Alexander Hamilton and James Madison and its objective was to promote Ratification of United States Constitution. That time, Constitution needed the approval of 9 states out of 13 states. The writers of these 85 articles weighted in with essays under the pseudonym stating that the proposed system will empower federal government to act firmly in national interest. They feared that a tyrannical government would hold supersede states and encroach on liberties given to the Individuals.  

Alexander Hamilton and James Madison wanted a strong constitution for the country and they cited the reason that under a strong federal government, the country will run smoothly. These essays were published in form of book form named, ' The Federalist' in 1788, and this book has received critical acclamation and is widely read and this book is respected for its master analysis and the principles upon which United States government was established.  

Alexander Hamilton who was among the authors of these articles, Went on to become secretary of Treasury in year 1789 before he resigned from his post after a year. James Madison became one of the leading members from the House of Representatives.
