23 +30 (15 feet each way) = 53

28 + 30 = 58

58 x 53 = 3074ft

Answer: 222 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: Megan wants to build a fence around her pool.

The dimensions of the pool is given by :-

28 feet long by 23 feet wide

Since, the fence is to be at distance of 15 feet from the edge of the pool.

Therefore, dimensions of the fence will be :-

(28+15+15) feet long by (23+15+15) feet wide= 58 feet long by 53 feet wide.

Now, the length of the fencing =2(l+w)=2(58+53)=2(111)=222\ ft.

Hence, she will need 222 feet of fencing.

Explain how to compute 3/4 x 4/5 using one diagram.
Drupady [299]

Answer:

The simplified form of given expression is 3/5.

Step-by-step explanation:

The given expression is

\frac{3}{4}\times \frac{4}{5}

We need to find the product of two factions using diagram.

For 3/4, draw a box and divide it in 4 equal parts by using vertical lines. The  color three parts of it.

For 4/5, draw a box and divide it in 5 equal parts by using horizontal lines. Then color the four parts of it.

Now combined both boxes and shown below.

From the below figure it is clear that

The number of common shaded small boxes =  12

Total number of small boxes = 20

The required fraction is

Fraction=\frac{\text{Number of common shaded small boxes}}{\text{Total number of small boxes}}

Fraction=\frac{12}{20}

Cancel out common factor.

Fraction=\frac{3}{5}

Therefore, the simplified form of given expression is 3/5.

A circular piece of metal has a radius of 3.5 meters.
prisoha [69]
1) we calculate the area of the circular piece of metal.
area=πr²
area=π(3.5 m)²=12.25π m² ≈ 38.48 m²

2)we calculate the total cost of the circular piece of meta by the rule of three.

$3.25-------------------1 m²
x--------------------------38.48 m²

x=($3.25 * 38.48m²) / 1 m²=125.06$

Answer: 125.06$

We can also  calcultate the total cost of the ciucular piece of metal by the ratius.
Ratius=$3.25/1m²

Total cost=ratius * area of the circular piece of metal.
total cost=($3.25/ m²)*(38.48 m²)=$125.06

Answer: $125.06
