Answer:

C. sporophyte

Explanation:

The sporophyte represents the life cycle that becomes more dominant as plants become more complex.

Sporophyte is a Greek term meaning diploid structure (2n) responsible for spore production; present in organisms whose life cycle has alternation of generations. This type of cycle is characterized by presenting two phases, one haploid (n) and another diploid (2n). The alternation of generations is believed to have arisen when the zygote (2n) was divided by mitosis rather than meiosis, resulting in a diploid individual. The alternation of generations is well documented in embryophytes (terrestrial plants) and for some macroalgae (red, green and brown algae). For these organisms the haploid phase (n) is represented by the gametophyte, whose function is the production of gametes; while the diploid phase (2n) is represented by the sporophyte, responsible for spore production. When the phases present morphological differences, which happens in the embryophytes, the life cycle is said to be heteromorphic. While for most algae there are no differences and the life cycle is known as isomorphic.

What actually forms code found in DNA?
Allisa [31]

Answer:

The code in DNA is stored in the four chemical bases (Adenine, guanine, cytosine and thymine) which are found in the genes. These include the information the cell needs to make specific proteins. Each base pair is made from 2 complementary nucleotides (either A+T or G+C) and bound together with hydrogen bonds.

A mating between a purebred purple-flowered pea plant and a purebred white-flowered pea plant would produce a(n) ______.
Misha Larkins [42]

A mating between a purebred purple-flowered pea plant and a purebred white-flowered pea plant would produce a Hybrid.

In human genetics, assortative mating is a type of nonrandom mating in which pair connections are created based on phenotype (observable characteristics).

A statistical link between genotype and phenotype predicts a physical characteristic in a person or an anomaly in a patient with a specific mutation or a collection of mutations that are related to it.

The genotype of a purebred purple flowered pea plant will be PP

while the genotype of purebred white-flowered pea plant will be pp.

on crossing

PP   X   pp

Pp, Pp, Pp, Pp (offspring)

hence all the offspring produced will be hybrids.
