Answer:

has only one solution: x=8, y=3

Step-by-step explanation:

\left \{ {{\frac{5x}{4} -\frac{2y}{3}=8(equation 1)} \atop {\frac{x}{4} +\frac{5y}{3} =7(equation 2)}} \right\\

substract  \frac{1}{5}×(equation 1) from equation2

\left \{ {{\frac{5x}{4} -\frac{2y}{3}=8(equation 1)} \atop {0x +\frac{9y}{5} =\frac{27}{5}(equation 2)}} \right\\

from equation 2 we obtain

y=\frac{27}{9} =3

and we replace 3 in equation 1

\frac{5x}{4} -\frac{2(3)}{3} =8\\\\\frac{5x}{4} =10\\\\x=\frac{40}{5} =8

pentagon [3]

Answer:

c  This is the direct variation

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation for direct variation is y= kx

Solving this for k

y/x =k

So y/x must be a constant

a.  9/3 =3

2/7 does not =3  so this is not a direct variation

b 1/2 = .5

-3/6 = -.5

This is not the same so this is not a direct variation

c.  27/9 =3

18/6 =3

9/3 =3

This is a direct variation with a constant of 3

d 5/-7 = -5/7

1/-3 = -1/3

This is not the same so this is not a direct variation

Gabriella and her children went into a grocery store and where they sell apples for $1 each and mangos for $0.50 each. Gabriella
Dafna1 [17]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x represent the number of apples that she wants to buy.

The grocery store sells apples for $1 each and mangos for $0.50 each.

If Gabriella decided to buy 13 mangos, it means that the cost of buying x apples and 13 mangoes is expressed as

x + 13 × 0.5 = x + 6.5

If she buy at least 19 apples, it means that

x + 13 ≥ 19

x ≥ 19 - 13

x ≥ 6

Gabriella has $15 to spend. It means that

x + 6.5 ≤ 15

x ≤ 15 - 6.5

x ≤ 8.5

Therefore, the maximum number of apples that she can buy is 8
