The figure is not attached. So we will assume a rectangle that has sides of lengths 2 cm and width 3 cm and It is enlarged<span> with scale factor 3.

</span><span>The width of the original rectangle must be one-third of the enlarged rectangle.

</span>The lengths of the sides of the enlarged rectangle will be:

Tamiku [17]
You need to know these two formulas:

\huge a^b \times a^c = a^{b+c}\\\\\huge \frac{a^b}{a^c}=a^{b-c}

For example,

5^2 \times 5^3 = 5^{2+3} = 5^5

\frac{2^6}{2^4} = 2^{6-4} = 2^2

The expression that shows the total gallons is 0.5gallon/1 day*16cups/1gallon * 7days/1week

<h3>Dimensional Analysis</h3>

From the given question, we are told that Katrina drinks 0.5 gallons per day. In order to determine the total cup that she drank in a a week, we will have:

Total gallons in a week. = 0.5gallons/1 day * 7days/1

Total gallons in a week = 3.5 gallons

Since 1 gallon. = 16 cups, then;

3.5 gallons = 16cups/1gallon * 3.5gallons

3.5 gallons = 56 cups

Hence the expression that shows the total gallons is 0.5gallon/1 day*16cups/1gallon * 7days/1week

The sum of two numbers is 39 and the difference is 3. What are the numbers?
frosja888 [35]

Answer: 21 & 18

Step-by-step explanation:

Sum of two numbers is 39

Difference is 3

Let the numbers be x & y

X+y=39........equation 1

X-y=3...........equation 2

X=3+y............equation 3

Substitute equation 3 into equation 1

(3+y)+y=39

3+y+y=39

3+2y=39

2y=39-3

2y=36

Y=36/2

Y=18

Substitute for y in equation 2

X-y=3

X-18=3

X=3+18

X=21

The two numbers are 21 & 18
