After the<em> Indian Removal Act i</em>n 1830, the Native American natives were forced to relocate from their homelands in the Southeastern territories of United States. They were obligated to move to different areas to the west of the Mississippi River. This is known as the Trail of Tears.
The tribes suffered diseases, and hunger during its pilgrimage. Many died. The tribes removed were <em>the Cherokee, the Seminole, Ponca, Chickasaw, and Choctaw. </em>
Because the Americans had vast sums of gold and sugar people were needed to harvest and mine them and when the Native Americans weren't enough they traded guns and other materials for slaves.
