The answer is; D

The plasticity of rock in the mantle and the convection currents in the region are responsible for tectonic plate movements. The hot molten rock from deep in the mantle rise and is replaced by the cooler rock at the upper mantle. These convections are similar to those of water in a boiling pot. As the tectonic plates move (as they are dragged by these convections) and collide, earthquakes are caused. In addition, at subductions zones (where two plates collide) there occurs high volcanic activity.

Explain e.o. wilson’s theory of island biogeography as it applies to environments other than islands physically surrounded by wa
laiz [17]

Today, any environment surrounded by other ecosystems that are unlike it is subject to Wilson’s theory of island biogeography. Because they are geographically isolated from other related ecosystems, these ecologies are referred to as "islands." Waterbodies divide tropical islands, but this idea also takes into account mountaintops, caverns, and other isolated ecosystems.

What is Wilson’s theory of island biogeography?

 • The biologist Edward O. Wilson and environmentalist Robert MacArthur published The Theory of Island Biogeography in 1967. It is widely considered as a foundational work in the ecology and biogeography of islands. The book was reissued by the Princeton University Press in 2001 as a volume in their "Princeton Landmarks in Biology" series.
 • The hypothesis that insular biota maintain a dynamic equilibrium between extinction and immigration rates was made more well-known by the book. An island's pace of new species immigration will decline as the number of species increases, while the rate of extinction of native species will rise.
 • Thus, MacArthur and Wilson anticipate that there will come a point of equilibrium where the rate of immigration and the rate of extinction are equal.

Two factors which cause global climate change are listed below.
IrinaK [193]

Answer:

c. Factors 1 and 2 may be influenced by both nature and human factors

Explanation:

The sea level rising and the change in the atmospheric gases are both processes that are influenced by the nature, as well as by the human activities. Naturally, the earth has its own cycles, known as Milankovich cycles, through which the Earth warms up, or cools down, resulting in change of the atmospheric gases, and in accordance to that, change in the sea levels depending on the global climate. The humans to have become a big factor in the past few hundred years. The reason for that is that the humans with their activity started to release lot of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, especially CO2 and methane. That has been changing the composition of the atmosphere, and the temperatures have been rising. The higher the temperatures, the more ice is melting around the poles and on the high mountains, resulting in an increase in the sea levels.
