10x + 2y - 6 = 0

Multiply 5x + y - 3 = 0 by 2

2(5x + y - 3 = 0) = 10x + 2y - 6 = 0

Answer: The resulting equation are,

3x - 2y - 7 = 0

10x + 2y - 6 = 0

Step-by-step explanation:

Since, for solving a system of equations by the elimination method we either add or subtract the equations to get an equation in one variable.

For this we find out the L.C.M. of the coefficients of that variable which we want to eliminate.

Here, the given equations are,

3x - 2y - 7 = 0  -----(1)

5x + y - 3 = 0 -----(2)

For eliminating y,

The coefficient of y in equation (1) = 2,

And, the coefficient of y in equation (2) = 1

L.C.M. (2, 1) = 2,

Thus, we make 2 as the coefficient of y in both equations,

For this we multiply equation (2) by 2 and equation (1) by 1,

Resultant equations are,

3x - 2y - 7 = 0

10x + 2y - 6 = 0

A salesperson sells $2100 in merchandise and earns a commission of $273, What is the commission rate?
larisa86 [58]

if we take 2100 to be the 100%, what is 273 off of it in percentage?

\begin{array}{ccll} amount&\%\\ \cline{1-2} 2100 & 100\\ 273& x \end{array} \implies \cfrac{2100}{273}=\cfrac{100}{x}\implies \cfrac{100}{13}=\cfrac{100}{x} \\\\\\ 100x=1300\implies x=\cfrac{1300}{100}\implies x=13

A water trough is 7 m long and has a cross-section in the shape of an isosceles trapezoid that is 30 cm wide at the bottom, 70 c
valentina_108 [34]

Answer:

The degree of fastness by which the water is rising is 210 seconds

Step-by-step explanation:

The volume of the trough when the water depth is 20 cm is first calculated

Volume of the trough (Trapezoidal Prism) = LH (A + B) × 0.5

Where L is the length of the trough, H is the height of the trough and A and B are parallel width of the top and bottom of the trough

Volume of the trough = 7 × 0.2 (0.3 + 0.7) × 0.5 = 0.7m³

The fastness at which the water is rising is = Volume ÷ water flow rate = 0.7 ÷ 0.2 = 3.5 min = 210 seconds
