The easiest way for anyone to lose fat is to take in less calories than you use. This can be accomplished through a decrease in caloric intake, an increase in caloric expenditure through exercise, or a combination of the two. The body stores energy in the form of fat when the calories taken into the body exceed how much is needed to function. When the body needs extra calories because it is using more than it is taking in, it breaks down the fat stores to utilize that energy.
