The false statement is: D. occurs in animal but not plant cells

Because cellular metabolism occurs in all living organisms. Cellular metabolism refers to all of the set chemical reactions within the living system, so it includes complex and controlled biochemical reactions - metabolic pathways, that can be anabolic (synthesis) or catabolic (break down of molecules). The processes of metabolism are necessary for organisms to grow and reproduce, maintain their structures, and respond to environmental changes.

In artificial selection, humans provide the selective pressure for species to change and shape the evolution of various breeds.
asambeis [7]
The environment provides the selective pressure in natural selection. Artificial Selection  is a type of choice in which people effectively pick which characteristics ought to be passed onto posterity. People have utilized particular rearing some time before Darwin's Postulates and the disclosure of hereditary qualities. It is the rearing of plants and creatures to deliver attractive qualities. Living beings with the coveted characteristics, for example, size or taste, are misleadingly mated or cross-pollinated with creatures with comparable wanted attributes.

What specific event triggers the uncovering of the myosin binding site on actin?
Bess [88]
Striated muscles contain repeating sarcomeres of overlapping arrays of long, thin actin and thicker myosin filaments. Myosin filaments contains the myosin heads, which are enzymes that can bind to actin, split and make use of the energy from ATP. When muscle contraction starts, myosin heads bind to actin, change their configuration on actin, liberating the products of ATP hydrolysis and causing slide of the actin and myosin filaments. The action of the proteins troponin and  tropomyosin on the actin filaments regulates vertebrae striated muscle contraction. The release of calcium ions from the sarcoplasmic reticulum is triggered by the nervous stimulation which causes depolarization of muscle membrane. Calcium ions bind to troponin and thus cause or allow the tropomyosin strands on the actin filament to move so that the part of the actin surface where myosin heads need to bind is uncovered. Contraction then occurs and only stops when the sarcoplasmic reticulum pumps calcium out of the muscle interior.

So basically, what triggers the uncovering of the myosin binding site on actin is the calcium ions binding to troponin and changing configuration.
