These ratios are super important for communication between cells, getting things into cells, getting rid of waste and pretty much all functions of a cell. Think about some dough. If it is in a ball, it will be pretty hard to get something to all of its parts. Now if this dough is rolled out into a sheet, whatever we are trying to get to the rest of the dough can be easily added to all of it.
