Explanation on how to answer:

This question requires self reflection on what you have been seeing, though I will try my best to guide you through this question.

At this point in the semester, What has surprised you most about the early years of Film?

For this part of the question, I find that questions like this can be answered by just giving one observation and either legitimately or falsely stating how you were surprised/excited/interested/intrigued/confused about this observation. It could follow a format like,

"I was surprised when learning about [topic] in the early years of film because I had never known that before. Learning this was very interesting."

What film has shifted your perspective from "film entertainment" to "film art"?

This part of the question is asking you how your perspective has changed, and assumes (and expects) your perspective to have changed from viewing films as entertainment to viewing films as art. This may be answered by a format like,

"My perspective from viewing films as entertainment has changed to viewing films as art because of the film [name a film you watched.] This is because [plot point/interesting point in film] was so [exciting/interesting/sad/poetic]. [more information about the plot/scene] [more on why it was good, maybe touch on metaphors]."

What film or film technique has been most interesting, to you, this semester?

This last part of the question relies most heavily on you. This is completely opinion. Talk about which film you liked the best, and say why you liked it.

Hope this helps!
