Indeed, during this period the Theban rulers (after the name of the Empire’ capital, Thebes) started Royal Necropolis at the Valley of the Kings, where gigantic tombs would be constructed for their bodies and those of their noble offspring.

Their armies benefited from an improved version of the Hyksos’ war chariot that was much faster and lighter. They also developed an improved version of the Hyksos’ composite bow. This allowed their armies to move fast and strike their enemies from further distances than before.

Finally, the territorial expansion naturally resulted in an increased trade and subsequent prosperity as merchants were able to buy and sell goods in all the conquered territories and contiguous states.
