The effect of Sputnik 1 could best be described in what way?
kotegsom [21]
The launch of Sputnik 1, the first artificial satellite created by the USSR, generated a big reaction from the United States. The United States wanted to get a technological advance to the Soviet Union, as they were currently in a period of the Cold War where the arms races and space race was heavy. It also created the effect across the United States that the US was not the most technologically advanced country and that the Soviet Union was not as backwards as it had been stated as being.

Would it have been easy to start a new life in Australia during the early 1800s? Why / why not?
Murljashka [212]

Answer:

It depends on what you want to do.

Explanation:

Australia in 1804 revolted from the British empire, which then became it's own nation. However, the British still had a lot of influence in Australia at the time. Australia didn't have the best economy and was hostile to the British. So it all depends on who you were, and where you came from.
