: Explain Beowulf’s reasoning behind the method he will use to fight Grendel. What does this reveal about the relationship betwe
ddd [48]
Beowulf tells Hrothgar that he will fight Grendel with his bare hands, as Grendel doesn't fight with weapons (it seems he can't even be killed with a blade). The only help Beowulf will get is the help of his warriors. Beowulf is aware that the lives of all his warriors are at stake, and anticipates that Grendel will eat them if they fail, but he is still eager to do this. This reveals that the leader is always the first one to fight, in front of his followers. But although he vouches for their lives, they must follow him to death, if need be.
Just like Beowulf is a leader to his warriors, Hrothgar, as a king, is the spiritual leader of the realm. Beowulf yields to him and wants to fight and even die for him, as Hrothgar represents the God's will on Earth. When the realm is physically endangered by a murderous, devilish villain, it means that the God's order on Earth is symbolically endangered, and it takes a hero to restore it.

”They had what was their own and coveted not what others had produced”
Misha Larkins [42]

Answer:

1. These words were said by the old grandfather to the king.

2. The name of the lesson is "A Grain as Big as A Hen's Egg" written by Leo Tolstoy.

3. The word "covet" means to envy or be jealous of something that others have. Wanting or desiring what belongs to others is what "covet" means.

Explanation:

The given quote is a simple explanation that the oldest grandfather gave the king. He said that in his time, no one has any feeling of jealousy for what belongs to others because there was nothing that belongs to a particular person. Everyone shares their produce and also openly/ freely gave to others. As such, everyone was happy with their lives and has no need to 'covet'.

1. These words were said by the oldest grandfather to the king.

2. The name of the lesson is "A Grain as Big as A Hen's Egg" written by Leo Tolstoy.

3. The word "covet" means to envy or be jealous of something that others have. Wanting or desiring what belongs to others is what "covet" means.

The tone of k.c. cole's essay murmurs can be described as
Firdavs [7]
Tone, as you may know, is the general attitude an author takes in the construction of a story, essay, poem, etc. that can be determined by the author's choice of words.  When we look at the essay, "Murmurs," by K.C. Cole, we see slang/informality in the author's word choice in the following sentence from the essay: "Because there's scientific gold in them there sinusoidal hills."  Additionally, there are many analogies and similes the author uses in the explanation of concepts such as when the author writes "Like children going after cookies the patterns of sloshing particles left their sticky fingerprints all over the sky."  As such, one way to describe the author's tone would be informal (almost playful/humorous) yet informative.
