The most accurate statement is the last one (d): Art Deco was prominently featured in architecture. Art Deco started to appear before World War I (1914) but it flourished in the 1920s, and Art Nouveau found inspiration in nature and its curvilinear and asymmetrical forms and it was in fact replaced by Art Deco (which does remain popular to this day), so the other three statements are not that accurate. Art Deco encompassed both decorative arts and architecture and interior design, but it was visibly featured in architecture, with superb examples such as the Chrysler Building in New York, the Guardian Building in Detroit or the Palais de Chaillot in Paris, just to name a few, which combine modern materials and ideas with traditional architectural styles, and feature geometric shapes (circles, triangles, rhombuses) and stepped forms.

What kind of government did Sparta have?
vovikov84 [41]

Sparta had what is known as a diarchical monarchy. The government's complete makeup consisted of dual kings; a council of about 30 gerontes or gerousia, which are rich elders; the ephors, a small council of five people and an assembly, called the Appella or Demos, of the common people who gathered once a month. The ephors were voted in yearly and this group held a lot of power. The ephors had the power to put the kings on trial and possibly impeach him if found guilty. This small council of five served as a type of supreme court. There were two members of the ephors always with the kings on military campaigns to help keep an eye on the interests of the state.

2. What was an effect of the building of the Berlin Wall? (1 point)
MariettaO [177]
2. The correct answer is C. "East Berliners could no longer visit West Berliners."

The Berlin Wall split up Berlin into two distinct parts with two very different societies. East Berlin became controlled by the Soviet Union while West Berlin was controlled by the US and other members of the allied forces from World War II. Citizens were not allowed to access the other side. This split up families, caused people to lose their jobs, and resulted in violence/death (as many tried to escape to West Berlin but were killed by armed guards).

3. The correct answer is B. "He did not want to lose the support of Southern Democrats."

Kennedy feared that losing this huge block of voters would make it more difficult to pass laws in Congress and would make re-election efforts much more difficult as well.

4. The answer is B. "sex."

Kennedy signed this law into place in 1963 as part of his "New Frontier" policy. This was aimed at closing the gap between the wages of men and women in the United States.
