BartSMP [9]

Laughing can relieve muscle tension and stress. Laughing also causes your brain to release hormones like endorphins. It also decreases stress hormones, which is a big help. When you laugh you also take deep breaths, so you end up getting more oxygen in our blood stream. Laughing can also improve your immune system, so you can fight off infections better. Gregor didn't seem to surprised , the text explicitly states. "How about if I sleep a little bit longer and forget all this nonsense." Meaning that he wasn't to worried about the transformation. The only time he did act surprised was when he answered his mom after she knocked on the door, " Gregor was shocked when he heard his own voice answering, it could hardly be recognized as the voice he had had before." That's why I feel like Gregor was maybe even used to being transformed, because he did not act very worried, or surprised.

Read the passage from Perseus.
professor190 [17]

Answer:

illustrate the feelings of the characters.

In this passage, the dialogue serves to illustrate the feelings of the characters. We can see that Acrisius is angry, as he asks who the father of the child is. We can also see that Danae is proud to state that Zeus is the father. Both pride and anger are feelings, which are illustrated by the dialogue in the passage. Other ways to express the feelings that the characters of a story are having is through their actions or by using an omniscient narrator.
