-3 because you can subtract 4d from 13. That gives you 9. Then bring down the -3f and divide it from the 9. You would get -3. So d=-3.

Equation of the existing water pipe's line

a) slope, m = rise / run = Δy / Δx = 3/2

b) y-intercept, b = 3

equation: y = mx + b = (3/2)x + 3

Equation of the new water pipe's line

slope, m = - 1 / (slope of the perpendicular line) = - 1 / (3/2) = - 2/3

point (0,2)

=> y - 2 = (-2/3) (x - 0) => y = (-2/3)x + 2 <---- equation of the new pipe

28)

two parallel lines have the same slope =>

slope, m = rise / run = Δy / Δx = [4 - 0] / [11 - 8] = 4 / 3

point (4,5) => y - 5 = (4/3) (x - 4)

=> y = (4/3)x - 16/3 + 5 = (4/3)x - 1/3

y = (4/3)x - 1/3  <--- equation of the new bike path

A cylinder and a cone have the same volume. The cylinder has a radius of 2 inches and a height of 3 inches. The cone has a radiu
jolli1 [7]

ANSWER

h= 4in.

EXPLANATION

The volume of a cylinder is calculated using the formula;

v = \pi \:  {r}^{2} h

It was given that, the cylinder has a radius of 2 inches and a height of 3 inches.

This implies that,

v = \pi  \times  {2}^{2}  \times 3

v =12 \pi

The volume of a cone is given by

v = \frac{1}{3} \times  \pi {r}^{2} h

The cone has a radius of 3 inches:

v=\frac{1}{3} \times  \pi  \times {3}^{2} h

v=3 \pi h

The two volumes are the same:

This implies that,

3 \pi h = 12\pi

Divide both sides by 3π

h= 4in
