Andrews [41]

Answer:

The answer is E.

Explanation:

The question is incomplete. Here is the complete question:

An XXY chromosome constitution produces ________ development in humans and _________ development in fruit flies.

a. female; female

b. male; male

c. female; male

d. male; female

e. male, intersex

Normally,  possessing two sex chromosomes for humans, having 3 sex chromosomes is an abnormality but it still results in a development of a male, who is infertile.

Fruit Flies are a species which possess 3 sex chromosomes normally, and in the cases in which there are 2 X choromosomes, it encourages the development of intersex fruit flies. Situations where there are 3 X choromosomes present result in female fruit flies and where there is only a single X chromosome result in male fruit flies.

I hope this answer helps.
