Answer:

\displaystyle\frac{x - 78}{8.6} = -0.440

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the following information in the question:

Mean, μ = 78

Standard Deviation, σ = 8.6

We are given that the distribution is a bell shaped distribution that is a normal distribution.

Formula:

z_{score} = \displaystyle\frac{x-\mu}{\sigma}

We have to find the value of x such that the probability is 0.33

P( X > x) = P( z > \displaystyle\frac{x - 78}{8.6})=0.33

= 1 -P( z \leq \displaystyle\frac{x - 78}{8.6})=0.33

=P( z \leq \displaystyle\frac{x - 78}{8.6})=0.67

Calculation the value from standard normal z table, we have,

\displaystyle\frac{x - 78}{8.6} = -0.440\\\\x = 74.22

which is the required equation.

Thus, values greater than equal to 74.22 above which 33% of the score fall.

Triangle ABC has vertices at A(−3, 4), B(4, −2), C(8, 3). The triangle translates 2 units up and 1 unit right. Which rule repres
Nataly [62]

Answer:

The translation statement is given by:

(x,y)\rightarrow (x+1,y+2)

After the translation, the coordinates of vertex A is (-2,6).

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

Vertices of a triangle ABC are:

A(−3, 4), B(4, −2), C(8, 3)

The triangle is translated 2 units up and 1 unit right.

To find the co-ordinates of point A after translation.

Translation rules.

For shift of c units up, the translation is given as:

(x,y)\rightarrow (x,y+c)

For shift of k units right, the translation is given as:

(x,y)\rightarrow (x+k,y)

So, it says the triangles is translated 2 units up and 1 unit right.

The translation statement is given by:

(x,y)\rightarrow (x+1,y+2)

So, co-ordinates of point A after translation is given by :

(-3,4)\rightarrow (-3+1,4+2)=(-2,6)

After the translation, the coordinates of vertex A is (-2,6).

A right rectangular prism has a length of 20.2 cm, a width of 9.1 cm and a height of 14.3 cm. What is the surface area of the ri
Alina [70]
To find this the first step we do is multiply the length by the height (20.2 x 14.3) to get 288.86.  Now there are 2 sides just the same so together it would be 577.72.  Next is width times height.  9.1 times 14.3 to get 130.13 then times that by 2 to get 260.26.  So far we have this 577.72 + 260.26 + (length times width).  20.2 times 9.1 is 183.82 then times that by 2 to get 367.64.  Now we add all of them to get 1205.62 cm^2.  The surface area of the right rectangular prism is 1,205.62 cm^2.  If this is wrong please let me know so I can research more on the subject.  Thanks :)
