Well since it gives you 2 gas stations it wants you to compare prices

Als gas station will be A
At-one will be B

since station A has $3.259/ gallon I assume
and B has $3.199/ gallon

just subtract them

so 3.259 -3.199 = 0.06

gas is less at station B noticeably costs less so thats your first answer

for the next one if you bought gallon of gas at the cheaper station you'd be saving $0.06/gallon since we got the difference from subtracting them.

What is the end behavior of the graph of the polynomial function f(x) = 3x + 30x + 75x4?
kipiarov [429]

Answer: As x \to -\infty, y \to \infty and as x \to \infty, y \to \infty

Basically, whether x goes to positive or negative infinity, the value of y will head off to positive infinity.

Why is this? It's all because of the leading term 75x^4. This is the term with the largest exponent, so the degree is 4. Even degree functions have the endpoints pointing in the same direction. In this case, that direction is up or pointing along the positive y axis direction. If the leading coefficient was negative, then y would head off to negative infinity instead of positive infinity.

If 15 pies will serve 20 people, how many pies are needed for 152 people?
Dafna11 [192]

Answer:

114 pies

Step-by-step explanation:

If the pie get together only had 20 people with 15 pies, then each person had a portion of 3/4 (divide them). The pie party has 152 people with 3/4 portions each, which means there has to be 114 pies at the party (multiply them).

Of my 135 students, 20% have cowboy boots. How many students wear cowboy boots?
Alekssandra [29.7K]
We can start with the whole of 135, and find out 10% of that.

135/10 or 135 divided by 10= 13.5

This means that 1/10 of it is equal to 13.5, and that’s 10%. To find 20%, you want to do 13.5 x 2, and this will get you 27.

The answer is 27.
