It is important that melanin is present in its highest concentration in the keratinocytes at or near the basal layer of the cell because, it is the one that is responsible for producing skin coloring pigment known as melanin, which give the skin its color and also it helps protect the deeper layers of the skin from harmful effects of the sun.
it increases because with more enzymes comes more active sites......since binding of the substrate and the enzyme will be faster increasing the products given out hence reaction is faster
