What you can do is two things:
1. Just fill in "y" with each answer choice until you get the right thing.
2. Do it the right way, which is this:
You need to isolate "y". To do this, you first need to get rid of every number that doesn't have a variable with it, so you need to get rid of 3. In order to do this, you do the inverse operation of whatever you are doing. So, 3 is being divided by 4y, so the inverse operation of division is multiplication. You multiply on both sides of the equation. So you have:
3x3/4y=24x3
Finish multiplying, 3x3 cancels out, so you don't have anything left on top, so you have just 4y=72 because 24x3 is 72. Now you have:
4y=72
Now, in order to find "y", you need to do the inverse operation again, and this time, you do the inverse operation of multiplication, division. Your equation looks like:
4y/4=72/4
4y/4 cancels out, so your left with just ''y'', and 72 divided by 4 is 18, so you are left with:
y=18
That is your final answer.

3/4 y= 24

Multiply both sides of the equation by 4/3 (the reciprocal of 3/4) to be left with y.

4/3 × 3/4y = 24 × 4/3

y = 24 × 4/3

y = 32

Hope this helps!

(1 + 9.8k)(2.8) simplified
o-na [289]

Answer:

<em>2.8 + 27.44k</em>

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Algebraic Simplification</u>

The rules of algebra can be applied in some situations to make expressions simplified or expanded, according to the specific needs of each problem.

We are given the expression:

(1 + 9.8k)(2.8)

It's a sum and a product. We cannot add the independent term with the variable term, so we can only multiply the factor and the contents of the parentheses as follows:

(2.8)1 + (2.8)9.8k

Operating:

2.8 + 27.44k

Find 3 consecutive odd integers such that the sum of the smallest number and the middle number is 27 less than 3 times the large
Mandarinka [93]

Let consecutive odd numbers be

x , x+2 , x+4

Smallest number =x

Middle number =x+2

Largest number =x+4

According to condition (x) +(x+2) -27 = 3(x+4)

                                      x+x+2-27= 3(x+4)

                                      2x-25= 3x+12

Subtracting 2x and 12 both sides

                                   2x-25-2x-12=3x+12-2x-12

                                     -37= x   this is smallest odd number.

Other two odd numbers are (x+2)= (-37+2)=(-35)

                             &                (x+4)=(-37+4)=(-33)

so three consecutive odd numbers are -37 ,-35 , -33

Two thirds a number x plus 9 is 11
olga55 [171]

Answer:

x=3

Step-by-step explanation:

First, lets write this equation out

\frac{2}{3} x+9=11

Now we can begin solving for x.

First we need to subtract 9 from each side

\frac{2}{3} x+9=11\\\\\frac{2}{3} x=2

Now, we must divide by \frac{2}{3}. Dividing by a fraction is the same as multiplying by its reciprocal, so instead I will multiply by \frac{3}{2}

\frac{2}{3} x=2\\\\x=2(\frac{3}{2} )\\\\x=\frac{6}{2} \\\\x=3
