Perimeter refers to the distance around a figure in this case a rectangle. On this problem is given the perimeter of the rectangle and its asked to find the value of x.

First of all, you should know that the formula to find the perimeter of a rectangles is P=2b+2h where b is the base and h the height of the rectangle.

P=2b+2h                    Substitute the given values
30=2(3x)+2(2x)          Associate the terms
30=6x+4x                   Combine like terms
30=10x                       Divide in both sides by 10 to isolate x
3=x

The value of x for the rectangle is 3 units.

Vika [28.1K]

Answer:

D Antenna #4

Step-by-step explanation:

As per given graph we can write the function

  • the intercept is zero, as x=0, y=0
  • at x=2, y=30  ⇒ 30= 2*15
  • at x=4, y=60 ⇒ 60= 4*15

The slope is 15, so the function is

  • y=15x

And the function for the antenna revolving at twice the rate would be

  • y=30x

Comparing data in given tables we can see it is D Antenna #4

  • x= 22 ⇒ y= 22*30= 660
  • x=24 ⇒ y= 24*30= 720

A store is having a sale on jelly beans and trail mix. For 3 pounds of jelly beans and 5 pounds of trail mix, the total cost is
Maurinko [17]
Set up your two equations:
<span>9x+7y=53 </span>
<span>3x+5y=25 </span>
<span>X=cost per pound of jelly bean </span>
<span>Y=cost per pound of trail mix </span>
<span>Multiply the second equation by (-3): </span>
<span>-9x-15y=-75 </span>
<span>+ 9x+7y=53 <---- copy first equation and add them </span>
<span>—————— </span>
<span>0x-8y=-22 </span>
<span>Then solve for y: </span>
<span>Y=2.76 this is your cost per pound of trail mix. </span>
<span>Then plug y back in to one of the original equations and solve for x: </span>
<span>3x+7(2.75)=25 </span>
<span>X=3.75 this is you cost per pound of jelly beans</span>
