Given,

AM of y numbers = x.

Let the sum of y numbers be s.

AM of y numbers = x

\frac{s}{y} = x

s = y*x

Given, when 30 is added to the y numbers, the AM becomes x - 5.

\frac{s + 30}{y + 1} = x - 5

\frac{y*x + 30}{y +1} = x - 5

y*x + 30 = (x -5)( y +1)

y*x + 30 = y*x + x - 5y -5

5y = x - 5 -30 = x - 35

y =  \frac{x -35}{5}

Which Data set has the smallest IQR ?
mel-nik [20]

Answer:

<h2 /><h2>The interquartile range (IQR) is the difference between the upper (Q3) and lower (Q1) quartiles, and describes the middle 50% of values when ordered from lowest to highest. The IQR is often seen as a better measure of spread than the range as it is not affected by outliers. Interquartile Range. 25% of values.</h2>

3. Use the diagram 2 and 3 are ____ angles 1. complementary 2. vertical 3. right 4. supplementary
Vladimir79 [104]

#3

2 and three are supplementary angles .

#4.

The answer is opposite angles .

  • Hence there is no option

#5

Bisected angles are equal

\\ \sf\longmapsto 5x=3x+10

\\ \sf\longmapsto 5x-3x=10

\\ \sf\longmapsto 2x=10

\\ \sf\longmapsto x=\dfrac{10}{2}

\\ \sf\longmapsto x=5

Now

m<ABC

\\ \sf\longmapsto 5x+3x+10

\\ \sf\longmapsto 8x+10

\\ \sf\longmapsto 8(5)+10

\\ \sf\longmapsto 40+10

\\ \sf\longmapsto 50

a carpenter has been asked to build an open box with a sqaure base. the sides of the box will cost $3 per m^2 and the base will
slamgirl [31]
<h2>Dimension of box is 2 m x 2 m x 1.33 m</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

Let a be base side and h be the height.

Volume of box, V = a²h

The sides of the box will cost $3 per m² and the base will cost $4 per m². Cost for making is $48.

That is

                 4a² + 3 x 4 x a x h = 48

                 4a² + 12 a x h = 48

                 a² + 3 ah = 12

                 h=\frac{12-a^2}{3a}

So volume is

                    V=a^2\times \frac{12-a^2}{3a}=4a-\frac{a^3}{3}

At maximum volume we have derivative is zero,

                    dV=4da-3\times \frac{a^2}{3}da\\\\0=4-a^2\\\\a=\pm 2

Negative side is not possible, hence side of square base is 2m.

Substituting in  a² + 3 ah = 12

                           2² + 3 x  2 x h = 12

                             h = 1.33 m

Dimension of box is 2 m x 2 m x 1.33 m
