The special election in Georgia may occur if a state or government office is empty in light of the fact that the workplace holder was chosen to another position. An exceptional race to decide the individual from the United States House of Representatives for Georgia's sixth congressional area was hung on April 18, 2017, with a spillover held two months after the fact on June 20. Republican Karen Handel vanquished Democrat Jon Ossoff in the overflow vote, 51.9% to 48.1%.
