7.5x + 40 (-40) = 70 (-40)

------------------------------------

7.5x/7.5 = 30/7.5

Take out 7.5x/7.5

Divide 30 and 7.5 which equals 4

4 people went to the aquarium

I learned this when I went to school... Forgot some steps so correct them!!! :)

7.5x + 40 = 70

Note the equal sign. What you do to one side, you do to the other. Isolate the x. Do the opposite of PEMDAS.

First subtract 40 from both sides

7.5x + 40 (-40) = 70 (-40)

7.5x = 70 - 40

7.5x = 30

Next, divide 7.5 from both sides

7.5x/7.5 = 30/7.5

x = 30/7.5

x = 4

4 friends are going to the aquarium together

hope this helps

write the equation in standard form of the line that passes through the point (1,26) and has a slope of -0.4
katovenus [111]
The beginning formula that you start with is y=m(x)+b
after the problem is written into the formula your ready to start.

It should look like this:

26y=-0.4(1)+b

to get the entire formula you've gotta find the
y-intercept or "b"

to start solving multiply the "m" by the "x" A.K.A:

-0.4×1

you should come up with the answer -0.4 since everything multiplied by 1 is still the same thing depending on if its positive or negative

after you've finished solving the multiplication part the equation should look slightly different like this:

26y=-0.4+b

the next step is the get "y" by itself since right now is a variable.

also you should always remember what ever process of simplifying by the same number to get rid of it in a "y=m(x)+b" equation should be done the same to the other side

take a look at the "-" sign in front of 0.4 this would mean that you are going to do the oppisite opperation to cancel it out so you would be adding the same number to either side. after adding the -0.4 to itself that would leave "b" by itself the problem should now look like this:

(26y+0.4)=b

forget about the y for now and focus on the (26+0.4)
you should get 26.4=b

insert this into the original equation of "y=m(x)+b" and this should look like this:

y=-0.4(x)+12.4

What is the solution of RootIndex 3 StartRoot x + 8 EndRoot = negative 4?
erica [24]

Answer: First option.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the following equation provided in the exercise:

\sqrt[3]{x+8}=-4

You can follow the steps indicated below in order to find the solution of this equation:

1. Cubing both sides of the equation, you get:

(\sqrt[3]{x+8})^3=(-4)^3\\\\x+8=-64

2. Finally you must subtract 8 from both sides of the equation:

x+8-8=-64-8\\\\x=-72

You can notice that this solution matches with the first option.

Maria had $3,500 and invested it into an account with an annual
Nina [5.8K]

Answer:

FV= $3,716.32

Step-by-step explanation:

Giving the following information:

Initial investment (PV)= $3,500

Interest rate (i)= 1.2% compounded monthly

<u>First, we need to determine the monthly nominal interest rate:</u>

Monthly interest rate= 0.012/12= 0.001

<u>Now, to calculate the future value after 't' months, we need to use the following formula:</u>

FV= PV*(1 + i)^t

<u>For example, for 60 months:</u>

FV= 3,500*(1.001^60)

FV= $3,716.32

Find the number n of hours you need to study on Saturday so that mean number of hours you study per day is 1.5
Tema [17]

Answer:

1 hour

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that

Day       Hours

Sunday    0

Monday   1.5

Tuesday    2.5

Wednesday  2.5

Thursday       3

Friday            0

Saturday       n

Mean number of hours of  study per day=1.5

Mean=\frac{sum\;of\;data\;}{total\;number\;of\;data\;points}

Total number of days=7

Using the formula

1.5=\frac{0+1.5+2.5+2.5+3+0+n}{7}

1.5\times 7=9.5+n

10.5-9.5=n

n=1

Hence,  number of hours you need to study on Saturday=n=1

Solve for points....
Ivan

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

For Mr Rowley,

Ratio of Number of home works to the number of exit tickets = \frac{12}{14}

                                                                                                      = \frac{6}{7}

                                                                                                      = 6:7

For Ms Rivera,

Ratio of Number of home works to the number of exit tickets = \frac{36}{42}

                                                                                                      = \frac{6}{7}

                                                                                                      = 6:7

Since, both the ratios are same, fractions will be proportional.

\frac{12}{14}=\frac{36}{42}
