It will cost $21 to drive from Monroe to Boston.

Step 1. Convert kilometres to miles

Distance = 240 km × (1 mi/1.609 km) = 149.2 mi

Step 2. Calculate the gallons of gas

V = 149.2 mi × (1 gal/27 mi) = 5.52 gal

Step 3. Calculate the cost of the gas

Cost = 5.52 gal × ($3.75/1 gal) = $21
