Cara's bathroom floor has an area of 2 2/3 square yards.She lays down a rug that has an area of 1 1/4 square yards.Do I have to subtract or add?Explain why

It should be Additional because she adds on another rug right so you just add 2 /23 + 1 1/4 and you will get your answer hope this helps

I think that you would have to subtract the two because the bathroom floor has an area of 2 2/3 and she is putting down a rug that has an area of 1 1/4 and you would need to subtract to see how much space she would have left when she is done putting the rug down.
