The two functions of the Treatment Action Campaign are:

  1. It ensures the prevention and treatment services in “isolated districts” that serve as ‘benchmarks’ for the other neighboring districts.
  2. It gives sufficient information and support for advocates countrywide.

Further Explanation:

The Treatment Action Campaign or TAC is an organization established by HIV/AIDS activists of South Africa. The organization was co-founded by Zackie Achmat, the HIV-positive in 1998. The campaign is rooted in the direct action tactics, experiences and anti-‘apartheid background’ of the founder.

The aim of the organization is to demonstrate or show that there should be a successful campaign for people’s better health and other economic and social rights that are ‘driven’ by ‘human rights’ demands with the help of law and legal systems. It is a campaign for “right to health” and “social justice”.

The main functions of the campaign were to increase access to care, treatment and support services for individuals living with HIV. They provide information about treatment options and medications to HIV patients.

Ilia_Sergeevich [38]
A main difference between the United States Constitution and state constitutions are that state constitutions are subservient to the U.S. Constitution and can only outline powers which are allowed to states by the U.S. Constitution. States cannot enumerate for itself powers that are not allowed to the state by the U.S. Constitution. Therefore, the U.S. Constitution is the highest law of the land and cannot be changed or adapted as a result of a state constitution.
