The correct answer is the following.

The characters in the story of Cosette and the stranger are the following.

In that part of the story of the novel <u>“The Miserables”, written by Victor Hugo</u>, the man who tells Fantine that he is going to take care of Cosette, her daughter, is Jean Valjean, one of the main characters of the story. Jean Valjean had spent many years in prison. Cosette was the daughter of Fantine. She is only 8-years-old. The girl served in the house of her owners, The Thenardiers. They exploited her and she suffers so much. The stranger, Jean Valjean, asks the Thenardiers how much for getting the girl. Ambitious as they were, the couple asks Valjean fifteen hundred francs. Valjean gave them the money and took Cosette with him.

What did we learn about the character Curley in chapter 2 and why is it important to the story (Of mice and men)? Explain
Yuri [45]

Answer:

He is described as “a thin young man with a brown face, with brown eyes and a head of tightly curled hair” which is why he is called Curley.  Curley is described as dressing in a somewhat aristocratic way, as if to separate himself from the lowly ranch hands. The glove is to keep his hand soft for his wife. Curley is the boss's son, and because his father only appears once, Curley is the main representative in the novella of the land-owning class. When this revenge plan fails and he loses face, Curley picks a fight with the vulnerable Lennie to reassert his status.

Read the stanza.
Grace [21]

Answer:

He is sold to his employer by is father.

Explanation:

William Blake's poem <em>"The Chimney Sweeper"</em> from his <em><u>"Songs of Innocence,"</u></em> tells the story of how a small boy was forced into employment as child labor which was a common practice in England of that time. This poem is a generalization of the prominent case of child labor through which some families get their incomes.

Narrated from the small boy's perspective, the first stanza reads

<em>When my mother died I was very young, </em>

<em>And my father sold me while yet my tongue </em>

<em>Could scarcely cry " 'weep! 'weep! 'weep! 'weep!" </em>

<em>So your chimneys I sweep & in soot I sleep</em>

It is clearly evident to see that the young boy's employment came at the death of his mother. <u>His father sold him to be a chimney sweeper</u> even before he could barely talk or speak.
