Answer:

a. Fish ladders

Explanation:

  • A structure that allows the fish to pass over an obstacle in the river such as dams and thus, helps it to migrate is called a fish ladder.
  • The fish ladder is mostly constructed in the form of small steps and the fish can swim and leap around these steps and reach onto the other side of the barrier.
  • The fish ladder can of various types but its main purpose is to facilitate the migration of the fish that is hindered due to the building of artificial barriers such as dams.

HELP!!!! Time crunch!
Mila [183]

Answer:

Glycolysis is a series of reactions that take place in the cell cytoplasm. It involves the oxidation of glucose into pyruvate (a 3 carbon compound), that produces (overall)ATP and reduced NAD: an enzyme that carries hydrogen. The number of carbons in each of these compounds is indicated in the green circle.

The carriers FAD and NAD bring the hydrogen and it separates to H+ and electrons (e-). The electrons pass from carrier to carrier and loose energy. This is used to synthesize ATP.

However, there are a lot of hydrogen ions, that unless they are removed, they'll cause a large increase in pH. Therefore, oxygen reacts with the ions to remove it and produce water. This is what the oxygen you inhale is used for (in terms of respiration).

Symptoms of malaria appears when
elena-s [515]
The symptoms do not appear immediately after the entry of sporozoites because hemozoin is not released. Only after the release of hemozoin the malarial symptoms are released. For most people, symptoms begin 10 days to 4 weeks after infection, although a person may feel ill as early as 7 days or as late as 1 year later.

Which of the following INCORRECTLY describes a polymer? Which of the following INCORRECTLY describes a polymer?
Len [333]

Answer:

A. ATP is a polymer of phosphates.

Explanation:

ATP is not a polymer of phosphates. It is a rather a complex organic molecule that has its main function to provide energy.

Starch and glycogens are polysaccharides or polymers of glucose or simply put, they have glucose subunits.

Nucleotides are biological molecules consisting of 3 major sub units which are the nitrogenous base, the phosphate acid and the 5 carbon (ribose) sugar. They are the building blocks of DNA and RNA and hence monomers.

Amino acids are basically organic compounds that contain amine (-NH2) and carboxyl (-COOH) functional groups, along with a side chain (R group) specific to every amino acid molecule. They are bond together by a peptide bond between the -NH2 and -COOH group to furthet form polypetides. Proteins in the same vein are called polypeptides which is a chain of amino acids.
