is a recessive, hereditary disease that is life threatening because of overproduction mucus in vital organs such as the lungs
user100 [1]

The cystic fibrosis is a condition, in which the secretion of mucus in some vital organs such as lungs, pancreas, and stomach becomes sticky and thick.

This condition is caused by the inheritance of the recessive gene responsible for the development of the cystic fibrosis.

The thick and the sticky mucus gets lined up on the walls of the organ and causes the clogging of the tubes and the ducts, hence, instead of providing lubrication they act as clogging agent and causing major damage to some vital organs, especially, lungs and the pancreas.

What are the buffer systems in your body that keep you alive activity 51?
STatiana [176]
There are three primary systems in the body that act as a buffer, in order to help maintain pH stability. The first is known as the phosphate buffer, which neutralizes excess hydroxide ions as they enter cellular fluid. The second is called the protein buffer, and maintains acidity in the body. The hemoglobin in blood, which binds to acids in the bloodstream, is one such example of this system. The third system is called the carbonic acid bicarbonate buffer, which neutralizes the acids generated by various metabolic processes, such as digestion and respiration.
