Analyze this sentence from the story: "He tried to coerce his mind into thinking of it, but the mind was dominated at this time

by the muscles, and the muscles said they did not care." What does the word coerce mean here? Why was there a need to "coerce his mind"?

Coerce means to do something by using force or threats, he wants to force himself into thinking of it but could not achieve it because his muscles were preventing it.

In this case, coerce means the man had to force himself to do something against his own will. At this particular juncture in the story, all four men were exhausted. Even though the men were near land, the correspondent, being the cynic that he was, still believed that there was more yet to endure. His muscles had been overworked to the point where death seemed to be an equally good option to having to swim toward land.

Answer:

Yesterday, my little sisters challenged me to a game of Scrabble. Usually, I avoid playing games with them because they're terrible cheaters. But pleading wore me down, and it was raining, so I agreed. We set up the board on the dining room table, removing Princess, the cat that likes to sleep . Then we picked our tiles. There are only two blank tiles, and I got them both! Things were looking good. The girls obviously didn’t like tiles: They kept trying to sneak their hands into the tile bag for new ones. There is not much else to say about the game, except that it went on and on and on. When it finally ended, I was more than ready to get out of there. The score? Lisa: 311. Janet: 296. Me: 64. Ugh. My sisters, of course, had a great time. already begging me to play

What feeling does bush evoke when he says justice will be done
bazaltina [42]

"Justice will be done" were the words that George Bush said in his speech on September 20, 2001, when the twin towers were demolished by Al - Qaeda terrorists. The feeling evoked by the president of the United States is revenge because in addition to the threat he made to terrorists, he also warns all countries saying that "Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists." Starting the so-called "war against terrorism" that put justice in the hands of the United States and the way to enforce it is weapons.
