Rossover is the first way that genes are shuffled to give rise to genetic diversity. Crossover takes place in sexual reproduction. Chromosomes line up side by side and break off pieces of themselves, then trade those pieces with each other. When they break at the same place (locus) in the sequence of base pairs, the result is an exchange of genes called genetic recombination. That is the normal way for crossover to occur. Genetic recombination ensures that the daughter cells produced have a different genetic makeup from the parent cell and thus diversity is created.<span>

Answer:

It involves segments of two homologous chromosomes trading places.

Explanation:

Crossing over is the process of exchange of genetic segments between two non-sister chromatids of a homologous chromosome pair. It occurs in pachytene of prophase I of meiosis I. The exchange of segments between non sister chromatids of a homologous chromosome pair creates new gene combinations. So, crossing over creates genetic diversity by adding new gene combinations to gametes.

BaLLatris [955]
Foods that contain more than one type of molecule help us meet our daily requirement of nutrients. There is a limit to how much we can eat in a day, so if nutrient rich foods are consumed, we can easily provide the necessary building blocks for our bodies to maintain healthy function. This is not possible with foods that contain only one type of molecule.

Well the flu is a virus. Knowing it’s a virus we know they multiply by entering a cell and passing over there rna then converted to be dna and creating other versions of them selfs until cytolysis occurs meaning the cell explodes with these new viruses and do the same with other cells. Since these dna conventions to create protein body parts of virus means there’s a increase in chemical reactions in the body and enzyme production. Also since your body has an immune system it can sense these antigens from the virus’s and cause increase in certain white blood cells to come in and kill these viruses and cells. In essence chemical and enzyme reactions increase. To survive.

What is the difference between plants breathing and photosynthesis?
coldgirl [10]

The principal difference, however, between photosynthesis and respiration (plants breathing is called respiration) is that photosynthesis utilizes carbon dioxide and water in the presence of light to produce glucose and oxygen, whereas respiration uses oxygen and glucose to power the activities of the cell.
