Last Monday, two law students met up at Cafe Literatura after school to read the pages they were assigned in the Legal Methods c

lass. Alejandro can read 1 page per minute, and he has read 28 pages so far. Carly, who can read 2 pages per minute, has read 12 pages so far. Part A: Define the variables and write two equations o represent the number of pages that each has read.

Answer:

f(t)=t Alejandro.

f(t)=2t Carly.

Step-by-step explanation:

If we express this as a relation we could called <em>t </em> the time in minutes and <em>f(t) </em>the total number of pages. So, after <em>t = 1 min, </em>Alejandro read 1 page, and Carly read 2 pages. When Alejandro finishes 28 pages, the time passed is 28 min, when Carly finishes 12 pages, the times passed is 6 min.

So, we can express each speed of reading like a ratio:

Alejandro: 1\frac{page}{min}

Carly: 2\frac{page}{min}

Also, we could define a function for each of them.

Alejandros' function:

y-28=1(x-28)\\ y=x-28+28\\y=x \ or \ f(t)=t

Carly's function:

y-12=2(x-6)\\ y=2x-12+12\\y=2x \ or \ f(t)=2t

Therefore, the relations are:

f(t)=t Alejandro.

f(t)=2t Carly.

  • Distance Formula: \displaystyle d = \sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Step 1: Define</u>

Point (4, 6)

Point (-2, -2)

<u>Step 2: Find distance </u><em><u>d</u></em>

Simply plug in the 2 coordinates into the distance formula to find distance <em>d</em>

  1. Substitute [DF]:                     \displaystyle d = \sqrt{(-2-4)^2+(-2-6)^2}
  2. Subtract:                                \displaystyle d = \sqrt{(-6)^2+(-8)^2}
  3. Exponents:                            \displaystyle d = \sqrt{36+64}
  4. Add:                                       \displaystyle d = \sqrt{100}
  5. Evaluate:                               \displaystyle d = 10

I NEED HELP PLEASE, THANKS!! :)
Lisa [10]

Answer:

The answer is

\frac{1372}{3} \pi \:  {cm}^{3}

Step-by-step explanation:

First you have to find the radius of sphere by dividing diameter by 2 :

radius = diameter \div 2

Let diameter = 14,

radius = 14 \div 2

radius = 7 \: cm

Next you have to use the volume of sphere formula :

v =  \frac{4}{3}  \times \pi \times  {r}^{3}

Let r = 7,

v =  \frac{4}{3}  \times \pi \times  {7}^{3}

v =  \frac{4}{3}  \times \pi \times 343

v =  \frac{1372}{3} \pi \:  {cm}^{3}

Answer:

The first option (0.80)

Step-by-step explanation:

First, we need to find all the outcomes which meet the criteria, and in this case there are 1,3,5,6,7,8,9,10. In total we have 8 outcomes that meet our criteria out of 10 outcomes,, therefore the probability of the outcome to be greater than 4 or an odd number equals...
