Elisabeth is registering for classes. She can choose from six classes for her first period block: math, science, history, litera

ture, art, or health. Which of the following best describes a method of assuring that each class has fair chance of being selected for Elisabeth's first period block?
A.
There is no way to assure that each class has a fair chance of being selected for Elisabeth's first period block.

B.
Roll an ordinary die. If the die lands on one, register for math. If the die lands on two, register for science. If the die lands on three, register for history. If the die lands on four, register for literature. If the die lands on five, register for art. If the die lands on six, register for health.

C.
Flip a fair coin three times. If the coin lands on heads on the first flip, heads on the second flip, and tails on the third flip, register for math. If the coin lands on heads on the first flip, tails on the second flip, and heads on the third flip, register for science. If the coin lands on tails on the first flip, heads on the second flip, and heads on the third flip, register for history. If the coin lands on tails on the first flip, tails on the second flip, and heads on the third flip, register for literature. If the coin lands on tails on the first flip, heads on the second flip, and tails on the third flip, register for art. If the coin lands on heads on the first flip, tails on the second flip, and tails on the third flip, register for health. If the coin lands on all heads, register for math. If the coin lands on all tails, flip again.

D.
Create a spinner with six regions, which differ in size. Color each region a different color: red, green, blue, purple, yellow, and orange. If the spinner lands on red, register for math. If the spinner lands on green, register for science. If the spinner lands on blue, register for history. If the spinner lands on purple, register for literature. If the spinner lands on yellow, register for art. If the spinner lands on orange, register for health.

Answer with explanation:

To choose for first period block, from six classes which are:

     math, science, history, literature, art, or health.

So, there are 6 classes in all.

If all has equal chances of being selected, then required probability of choosing any of the six classes

        =\frac{1}{6}

→ Option B  describes a method of assuring that each class has fair chance of being selected for Elisabeth's first period block.

Roll an ordinary die. If the die lands on one, register for math. If the die lands on two, register for science. If the die lands on three, register for history. If the die lands on four, register for literature. If the die lands on five, register for art. If the die lands on six, register for health.

→→→But why not option D, because if there are six regions in spinner ,they must be of different color and same size that is area occupied by each cross section should be equal.

Option A and Option C are discarded.

The answer is B because each of the six classes have a one in six chance in being chosen for the first period block.

Two trains are traveling at a constant rate. Which train has the greater speed?
natali 33 [55]
A point on the graph (for train b) that is exact is (2,250). From the origin, the rise is 250 and the run is 2. Rise/run would give us 250/2, which is 125. This means that train B travels 125mi every hour. For train A, we subtract the distance from hour 2 from hour 3 to get the miles per hour (because 3-2=1, subtracting the distance of hour 3 from 2 will give us the distance in 1 hour). 180-120= 60, meaning train A travels at 60mph. 60<125, meaning A

A recipe calls for cup of broth. The largest volume-measuring tool that Tabitha has is a teaspoon. She knows that there are 16 t
Artist 52 [7]
1c = 16t = x(\frac{1}{3})
1c = 16t = 16 X 3
1c = 16t = 48

She should use 48 teaspoons of broth.
