Jacob Riis was an American reformer and muck raking journalist. He exposed the horrid conditions that immigrants and the poor were forced to endure in rapidly industrializing cities. He supported increased social programs for the poor and expansion of social welfare programs. His work brought more attention to the plight of the poor, fueled the creation of more services during the Progressive Era for the poor and inaugurated the use of photojournalism as a tool in addressing social ills.

according to Locke, what rights do men possess? What's is the purpose of government? What type of government does he propose?
Debora [2.8K]

Answer:

Locke believed that human nature allowed people to be selfish.

This is apparent with the introduction of currency. In a natural state, all people were equal and independent, and everyone had a natural right to defend his "life, health, liberty, or possessions."

Locke favored a representative government such as the English Parliament, which had a hereditary House of Lords and an elected House of Commons. But he wanted representatives to be only men of property and business. Consequently, only adult male property owners should have the right to vote.
