The Supreme Court's ability to interpret the Constitution is called Judicial review.

Further Explanations:

The Federal Structure of the United States has divided its power division into three branches,a judicial branch, and the executive branch andlegislative branch with a bicameral division. The power of the judiciary is vested in the hands of the Supreme court having both Appellate as well as Original Jurisdiction over theconstitutional issues and Lower courts. The Original Jurisdiction exercised by the Supreme Court is derived under Article III under Section 2 while its judicial power to review and intercept the constitutional treaties is vested under clause 2 of section 2.

The Supreme court also exercises the power of Appellate Jurisdiction over the cases arising under the United States constitution. The clause provides the authority for administrative regulation against the constitutional amendments, though the constitution does provide authority of judicial reviews to the federal Judiciary as many framers reviewed it as an inappropriate power for federal judiciary to exercise. In spite of all this, the Supreme Court of the United States exercises the authority to examine that the regulation statue or treaties are violating the existing constitutional laws or not.

Do you think states should always obey federal laws and why?
polet [3.4K]

Answer:

No

Explanation:

The word "always" implied that the states should obey the federal government under any circumstances.

Most of the times, yes. I think it is important for the states to obey the federal government in order to maintain law and order in the country.

But, there's a chance that the federal government might impose a legislations that's violates the constitutions or human rights. At that point, the states need to be able to raise as the opposition from the central government.
