Answer:

The correct option is a.  Sentence

Explanation:

A sentence has three main components (1) a subject, which correspond to the who in the sentence, (2) a predicate, that corresponds to the verb or action, and (3) a complete thought that make sense by itself.

In contrast,  a fragment corresponds to an incomplete sentence where it is lacked either the subject or the verb, or even both.

Bearing in mind the described above, it could be said that the example provided; "Which came as a great surprise to my aunt Wilma." correspond to a sentence since in it is possible to notice the three main components of a sentence.

What type of rhyme appears in the following two lines of poetry: The wind whipped across the bough/ As the seas against the ship
Lilit [14]

Answer:

End Rhyme

Explanation:

As you may already know, a rhyme is a literary device that allows others to repeat identical or similar sounds in a few words throughout their literary work. This device is used to promote rhythm and musicality to the work.

An End Rhyme occurs when these sounds are established in the last syllables of the lines, as can be seen in the lines shown in the figure above, where the last syllable of the word "bough" (which is the last word of the first line) rhymes with the last dilaba of the word "rough" (which is the last word in the second line).

Write a post card to your brother standing how are you feeling in abroad country
gregori [183]

Dearest brother,

Having moved to Korea has been an intriguing experience for I can finally fondle my darkest ideals. In my hands, I have the endless possibilities to indulge in the art of making money through my gift of speaking to the dead. And, if you could see brother I already have many clients who are after me begging to communicate with their beloved friends and family members who have crossed the line and are now roaming through the land of the living as spirits. Individuals come and go, in and out my dark apartment. They come for hope, with the faith that they shall communicate with their loved one’s. You have no idea how it pities my heart my brother to see them in such situation, the pain they have of them loosing a loved one. Still, it’s a relief that I help them. Yet, sometimes I feel like the spirits are not the original people that died, but instead demons. Could it be brother? I am puzzled by this, and I’m not sure if what I’m doing is the correct thing anymore. Do reply back as fast as you can. Thank you brother for your time and patience. I dearly care about you.

Read this passage from “In Another Country.” In what way is Hemingway using characterization to describe the Major? The major ca
Alex777 [14]

Answer:

Indirect characterization – the narrator is relating the major’s thoughts, words, and actions.

Explanation:

The direct characterization is when the qualities of the character are tell to the audience, for example “The rude girl looked at the boy”, here we do not need to assume her personality by her actions or thought we already she is rude, it is explicit in the sentence, however in this excerpt we assume the personality of the major based on his thoughts and actions, this is the indirect charavcterization.
