The North had a larger manufacturing base and shipyards free from attack. The North also had the edge on a navy. The North's fleet was small but the South had none at all. Northern warships could be built in safe ports. The South's places to build ships were small and always dangerous. This caused them to purchase ships from Europe.

How did texas society change during the mexican national era
LekaFEV [45]

Answer:

After the independency of Mexico from Spain in 1821, Mexico tried to encourage the population growth of Texas. For that reason, Mexico enacted a law to promote immigration to Texas regardless ethnical background or religion. Stephen Austin, a colonist born in Virginia, got a concession to colonize in Texas. Many colonists came specially from the United States which increased tension with Native-Americans and Mexicans. These tensions led to a revolt and the Texas Revolution in 1835.

Which statement is false?
3241004551 [841]

Answer:

The correct answer is: c) Thomas Malthus suggested that all species were not created at the same time.

Explanation:

Thomas Robert Malthus was known mainly for his contribution to political economy and demography, through the "Malthusian Doctrine". His most important idea referred to the fact that population grows at a geometrical rate, whereas natural resources (food supply) grows at an arithmetic rate. This fact would ultimately lead to famines and a natural population decrease.

Although his thoughts and doctrine influenced the Darwinian evolution theory, Malthus didn't write about the creation of species, as opposed to Leclerc, Lamarck, Lyell and Cuvier, who studied biological processes more than political, economic or demographic ones.
