A cross is made between scute-bristled females and ruby-eyed males. Phenotypically wild F1 females were then mated to homozygous

double mutant males, and 1000 offspring were produced. What phenotypes are expected in these offspring? Select all that apply. A. wild type females wild type males B. scute-bristled females scute-bristled males C. ruby-eyed females ruby-eyed D. males scute-bristled, ruby-eyed females E. scute-bristled, ruby-eyed males

Answer:

Expected phenotypes include: Wild type males, wild type females, scute-bristled females, scute-bristled males, ruby-eyed females, ruby-eyed males, and scute-bristled, ruby-eyed males, and  scute-bristled, ruby-eyed females

Explanation:

In this sense, it means that all of the options are possible phenotype of expected offspring. It is expected that there will be 425 Scute-bristled, 425 ruby-eyed offspring, 75 wild-type offspring and 75 scute-ruby offspring.

The functioning of enhancers is an example of
PIT_PIT [208]

Answer:

b. transcriptional control of gene expression.

Explanation:

The binding sites of transcription factors (enhancers and silencers) can activate or deactivate, respectively, a gene in specific parts of the body.

Some genes must be expressed in a part of the body. For example, if you need to activate a gene in the spine, skull and toes, but not in the rest of the body, how can transcription factors do this task?

As a gene of this type of pattern it can have several enhancers or silencers, where each one can activate or repress the gene of a specific type of cell or part of the body, joining transcription factors that occur in that specific part of the body.

What is the claim to why magnets flies
enot [183]

Answer:

Tiny magnets attached to the flies made it possible to upset the insects by zapping them in mid-flight with brief magnetic pulses, forcing them to roll like out-of-control aircraft. But the flies did not stay out of control for long.

Describe the purpose of the Nucleus in a cell / discuss the DNA structure inside of the nucleus and what is the job of DNA and h
liberstina [14]
The nucleus is able to control and regulate the rest of the cell(it basically tells it what to do). The DNA is made up of chromosomes, the DNAs shape is a double helix and is tightly packed inside of the nucleus. The job of the DNA is to regulate the rest of the cell and tell the cell what kind of cell it is and what job it needs to do(ex all cells are different so the dna determines the type of cell like a bone cell or blood cell) this ties in with genetic because your dna makes up your cells and your cells make up who you are.
